At MyFamilyAbroad (MFA), we do everything possible to ensure stays go as planned. However, we recognize that unforeseen circumstances may lead to changes.

This policy aims to provide a clear, predictable, and fair framework, while protecting the reliability of the community and the safety of Young People. Cancellations have a direct impact on the families involved and on the overall balance of the MFA system.

👉 Honoring commitments is a core value of MFA. Repeated or late cancellations may result in sanctions.

Key Definitions

• Guest Family (Guest): family sending a Young Person.
• Host Family (Host): family hosting a Young Person.
• MFA Credits: 1 credit = 1 night of accommodation.
• MFA Fees: MFA service fees (included insurance, assistance, support).
• Reciprocal Exchange: balanced exchange with no credit consumption or earning.

1. Cancellation Policy – Guest Family

The Guest cancellation policy aims to offer reasonable flexibility while respecting the commitment made by the Host Family.

1.1 Cancellations Without Penalty

Free cancellation:

• up to 60 days before the arrival date, or
• within 24 hours of stay confirmation.

👉 Refund: 100% of MFA credits, 100% of MFA fees, 100% of any cleaning fees.

1.2 Cancellations Between 60 and 30 Days Before Arrival

• Refund of 75% of MFA credits used.
• Refund of 75% of MFA fees.
