Objective
Travel involving Young People requires a high level of reliability and safety. The MFA Guest Trip Protection Policy aims to mitigate the consequences of a major unforeseen event affecting a confirmed stay.
This policy applies exclusively in the following cases:
- late cancellation by a Host Family, or
- reasonable impossibility of accessing the property upon arrival, without fault of the Guest Family.
1. General Principle
When conditions are met, MFA commits to:
- Searching first for an alternative solution within the MFA network (host family or back-up family), at no additional cost to the Guest Family, or
- Failing that, contributing to the costs of third-party accommodation, within the limits defined below, or
- Offering a full refund of credits and associated fees if no solution is accepted.
2. Covered Situations
Trip protection may apply when:
- A Host Family cancels a confirmed stay less than 30 days before the arrival date, or
- The Guest Family is reasonably prevented from accessing the property upon arrival (no access, uninhabitable property, safety issue), without negligence on their part.
3. MFA Alternative Solution ("MFA Equivalent Solution")
3.1 Principle
In covered situations, MFA will first attempt to offer an MFA Equivalent Solution, at no additional cost in credits or MFA fees.
3.2 Equivalence Criteria
An MFA Equivalent Solution is defined as accommodation:
- located in the same city or within a maximum 30 km radius,
